Making a Difference
Child hunger is a reality in Harford County, Maryland. Weekend meal programs help fill the hunger gap that many schoolchildren experience when they are not in school.
Through our Beyond Blessings program, The HOPE Center of Maryland provides students from low-income families, with kid-friendly, nutritious food meal bags to sustain them on the weekends.
For the current school year, 130 weekend meal bags weekly are provided to children attending Bakerfield and Deerfield Elementary Schools and Edgewood Middle School. Staff at the school distribute the bags to the students with the highest needs.
We are reaching out to the community for monetary bag sponsors or to organize a food drive on behalf of The HOPE Center. Your help is needed.
