Hands for HOPE - Appalachia

The HOPE Center of Maryland is excited to announce our new outreach -- Hands for HOPE - Appalachia. We will be taking food, clothing and other supplies to the residents of Kermit, West Virginia and Warfield, Kentucky, two of the poorest communities in the Appalachian Mountains.

This region of the country has suffered greatly over many decades…poverty, chronic unemployment and most recently widespread opioid addiction which has devastated the families in these communities. If you wish to know about the history of the many issues facing the residents of this region, please click here…

The HOPE Center of Maryland is partnering with several local outreach organizations who have been working in these communities, such as Christian Help, Inc. of Mingo County, The Big Laurel Learning Center as well as several local churches.  This partnership will allow our donations to get to the people with the greatest need.

The Hope Center is in the process of accepting donation for our Appalachia outreach.  Please click here to see our Wish List...  Of course, monetary donations are always welcome!

Most of all, we solicit your prayers... prayers that by reaching out with the love of Jesus we can be the Hands for HOPE to Appalachia and provide the Good News of Jesus Christ to those in desperate need of the healing power of the gospel.

“And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God” - Hebrews 13:16 NLT
